Teaching Assistant

As a SEN school, our Teaching Assistants form an integral part of our academy and are valued by all staff, including the Senior Leadership Team. 

We are recruiting confident, resilient, and passionate Teaching Assistants to work with our students and join our supportive school team at Iford Academy. 

The main duties include assisting the teacher to provide care and support for students within classes, creating a safe inviting learning environment, and promote and safeguard the welfare of students.  

You will have a dynamic, exceptional, and creative approach to improving the teaching and learning in a way that benefits all our students while understanding each student is individual and has different needs.

Preferably, you will have experience of working with young people with additional needs including childhood trauma, alongside SEMH and ASC.  

Experience within a similar setting would be beneficial but is not essential, however the successful applicant will need to demonstrate that they can engage with young people and build positive relationships.
